Finite Element Pre-Processors are data capture systems for engineering analysis and simulation. These systems have evolved from batch files data entry to graphic interfaces, with data capture based on visual representation of the engineering artifact. Despite of the obvious gains in object representation, direct manipulation interfaces still show evidences of some critical interactive problems. These problems are apparently due to an interaction model based on the semantics of the artifact, and the communication language does not offer adequate support to the manipulation of the visual representations. In this paper we analyse some solutions within a linguistic framework, proposing a reorientation of the interaction model so as to include the tasks performed upon the artifact. |

The growing interest in health and well-being has spurred the evolution of functional foods, which provide enhanced health benefits beyond basic nutrition. Guarana seeds (Paullinia cupana) have been widely studied and used as a functional food due to their richness in caffeine, phenolic compounds, amino acids, and other nutrients. This has established guarana as a significant food supplement, with Brazil being the largest producer of the world. This study aims to propose a set of analytical methods to chemically evaluate fifty-six different guarana clones, from the Guaraná Germplasm Active Bank, to accommodate the diverse requirements of the food industry. |
