50 ejaculates were obtained from 5 nondescript adult goats. The semen samples were diluted in egg yolk-fructose-citric acid-glycerol, with or without Tris, frozen in liquid nitrogen and stored for 24 h. The percentage of intact acrosomes declined from 88.76+or-0.43 before freezing to 68.90+or-0.82 in frozen-thawed semen in the Tris diluent, and from 85.98+or-0.47 to 56.70+or-1.15 in the diluent without Tris. |
