The Kansas Corn Testing program includes open-pollinated varieties and hybrids produced and distributed by federal, state, and commercial agencies. The characters given consideration in this program are resistance to lodging, drouth, diseases and insects; and yield, suckers, ear height, ear drop, ear size, maturity, shelling percentage, and test weight. The names and addresses of the commercial companies entering hybrids in the tests are given in Table 1. Names of producers of certified seed of hybrid combinations with the state name as a prefix may be obtained from the various Corn-belt agricultural experiment stations. Information on seed of kansas-developed hybrids can be obtained by writing to the department of Agronomy, Kansas State College, Manhattan, Kansas.
