[Weight and yield of noncarcass components of lambs finished on native pasture Caatinga submitted to different supplements of salt mineral]. Abstract: The aim was to evaluate the weight and yield of the noncarcass components external and internal of sheep in native pasture Caatinga and supplemented with different mineral supplements. Were used 24 crossbred sheep Santa Ines in termination, distributed in a completely randomized design, with three treatments, according to the following supplements of mineral salt: commercial mineral salt (SALMINC), commercial mineral salt plus 750 ppm of zinc per animal-1 (SALMINCZn) and commercial mineral salt supply with 2.5 ml of propylene glycol per metabolic body weight (BW)0.75 animal-1 (SALMINCPeg), with eight replicates each. There was observed not differences (P>0.05) for weight and yield of the noncarcass components externals, except for weight of blood with higher weight to SALMINCZn. There was not difference (P>0.05) in weight of the noncarcass components internal, except, for kidney weight, where was obtained highest value for SALMINCZn regarding SALMINC (P <0.05). For yield of the noncarcass components were observed differences only for kidneys, with higher relative value for SALMINCZn than SALMINC, and liver, where was obtained higher relative value for SALMINC than SALMINCZn (P<0.05). Supplementation with the different types of salt containing zinc or propylene glycol doesn't increase the weight of the main noncarcass components externals and internals of sheep created in native pasture of the Caatinga. Cultivated peanut (Arachis hypogaea) has a high morphological but narrow genetic diversity, and understanding the genetic processes of this plant is hindered by the fact that the peanut genome has not yet been sequenced and its genomic resources are still limited. Due to its high genetic diversity and adaptation to a range of environments throughout the evolution course, wild relatives of peanut (Arachis spp.) constitute a rich source of allele diversity for resistance to abiotic and biotic stresses. In particular, A. duranensis and A. stenosperma harbor high adaptability to water stress conditions and root-knot nematode resistance, respectively. In order to identify genes in those wild species that are differentially expressed in response to drought stress and to nematode (Meloidogyne arenaria) challenge we conducted comprehensive transcriptome analyses using sequencing data from Sanger, 454 and Illumina HI-SEQ technologies. In silico analysis revealed that several genes were significantly up- or down-regulated in the stressed or control conditions. Differentially expressed candidate genes related to abiotic and biotic stresses were further selected for validation through RT-qPCR. Among these, expansin, aquaporin, dehydrin, chaperone, nitrilase, transcription factors, resistance protein MG13, resveratrol synthase genes revealed high levels of differential expression in stressed plants. This data confirms the relationship of these genes with drought stress response or root-knot nematode infection in wild Arachis species. The identification of candidate genes for resistance to abiotic and biotic stresses can provide additional resources for peanut breeding and transgenic approaches.
