In the present study, we screened a panel of fourteen EO for their chemical composition and in vitro antileishmanial activity agaisnt L. amazonensis, the etiological agent of tegumentary leishmaniasis. Cytotoxicity was also evaluated against different mammalian cells to provide initial evidence of their safety. In addition, the mode of action of Piper callosum(the most effective EO) was investigated. |
