P. aCommon bean gene mapping for molecular improvement.h[electronic resource] c2014 aAs molecular genetics technology advances Phaseolus vulgaris has been benefited towards the knowledge and understanding of the entire genome. This progress has led to the development of a large and useful set of anonymous and gene-targeted molecular markers scattered throughout the entire genome, which has been mapped and resulting in a high-resolution linkage map, unavailable until recently for common bean. Several QTL mapping studies have provided base line knowledge of genomic regions affecting traits of interest and suggested targets for candidate genes to be tested in association mapping. In this context, high-through put genotyping based on new sequencing technologies will assist researchers to increase the effectiveness of the common bean breeding programs. aFeijão aMarcador molecular aPhaseolus vulgaris1 aBRONDANI, C. tLegume Perspectives, Córdobagn. 2, p. 20-21, Apr. 2014.
