D. aArabidopsis thaliana as an experimental model for genetic studies of plant-pathogen interaction involving the citrus leprosis pathosystem.h[electronic resource] aIn: CONGRESSO BRASILEIRO DE GENÉTICA, 58.,2012, Foz do Iguaçu-PR. Resumos. Foz do Iguaçu-PR: SGBc2012 aAnais Web. aRecently, Arabidopsis thaliana has undoubtedly emerged as the major model experimental plant for genetic studies. Besides its short generation time and small size, allowing for rapid growth and analysis of a large number of individuals in a minimum space, its genome is compact and shows high gene density, which makes sequencing, isolation and understanding the function of each A.thaliana gene fast and cheap. Also, the genetic transformation of A.thaliana is possible in a very efficient manner, facilitating the genes functional study, whereas most of the cultivated species are difficult to be transformed. aArabidopsis aCitrus leprosis1 aBERGAMINI, M.1 aASTUA, J. de F.
