I.Effects of cadmium on the functions of respiratory and circulatory systemsof carp (Cyprinus carpio L.). c1979 aEffects of cadmium on the functions of respiratory and circulatory systems of carp, Cyprinus carpio L. ranging from 800-1200 g in body weight were studied with respiratory rate, heart rate and blodd pressures in the ventricle, bulbus arteriosus and dorsal aorta as parameters. The fish were divided into two groups one injected with 1 mg and the other with 0.1 mg Cd/kg body weight. Five hours after the injection, fish of both groups showed very little alteration in respiratory rate, heart rate and blood pressures. The day after the injection, however, respiratory rate, heart rate, and blood pressure began to increase. patterns of blood pressures in the ventricle and the dorsal aorta showed various signs of deformation. Seven of nine fish injected with 1 mg Cd/kg body weight showed general symptomus of edema and exophthalmus three to six days after the injection. acadmium afish aPeixe aTóxico aToxic1 aHGAN, P.
