This paper is concerned with the description of an adapted method. The type of cattle, the fodder offered, the management and diet regime of the cows, the experimental conditions (quantity of herbage, stocking rate, kind of comparisons) and the collected data (forage and animal) are first listed. After the establishment of a standard lactation curve (on the basis of the trend of the actual curve compared with the theoretical curve), the data are transformed to mean milk production ratio observed/calculated.
