M. aObservations on the reproductive patterns in zebu cattle raised in range conditions in the state of S. Paulo - Brazil. V. Some observations on the calving intervals. c1967 aFrom a large herd of Zebu cattle (Indubrasil), raised in range conditions the calving intervals of 134 cows have been examined. The sires were kept with the cows, throughout the year in the ratio of 1:25, so unrestricted mating was allowed. The calves were weaned with about 7 months of age. The mean between the 1st and 2nd calving was: 441 +- 21 days (S.D. = 125).The mean interval for the subsequent calving (from 2nd to 7th) was: 477 +- 12 days (S.D. = 134). By analysis of variance the interval between the 1st and 2nd calving shown to be significantly lower thant that between the subsequent calf drops (F = 5.577). The possible influence of the suckling effect has been discussed. aBrazil areproduction azebu aBovino aReprodução aBovine aCalving intervals aIntervalo entre partos aSao Paulo1 aTABARELLI NETO, J.
