II.Influence of month and age of thesource plants on rooting of Hardwood cuttings of mango under bottom heat. c1987 aStudies were conducted to find out the influence of month and age of the source plant on rooting of hardwood cuttings of mango under bottom heat at 30 = 1C with wounding + 5,000 ppm IBA and wounding with no IBA. It was observed that the percentage of rooting, number of roots and length of longest root did not differ significantly among the four months i.e., November, December, January and February indicating that all the four months are equally suitable for rooting of mango hardwood cuttings under bottom heat. The juvenile hardwood cutting taken from stool-bed plants of three and six year old plants gave significantly higher percentage of rooting, number of roots and length of the longest root than those taken from 13 year old plants. Wounding + 5,000 ppm IBAgave significantly higher percentage of rooting than wounding with no IBA irrespective of month and age of the source plants. arooting avegetative propagation aEnraizamento aManga aMangifera Indica aPropagação Vegetativa aEstaquia aMango1 aSINGH, R.
