Final abstracts guide. San Diego: Illuminac2008  aW105  aIn a network effort of sequencing and annotation by several laboratories, the citrus ESTs database (CitEST) was concluded in 2007 in Brazil. The database include over than 280.000 ESTs of sweet orange (126.660), mandarin (59.484), Poncirus trifoliata (38.976), rangpur lime (15.455), sour orange (9. 600), Tahiti lime (9.600), key lime (9.600), and Sunki mandarin (7.584). The libraries were constructed with tissues under stress conditions aiming to increase the probability to sequence genes expressed in response of pathogenes or water stress. Besides survey of expressed genes of different citrus species, the project had the goal to estabilish molecular marker based on expressed sequences supporting genetic mapping approaches. The assembled and annotated sequences of all species include more than 90.000 unigenes, which has been extensively compared within the set and with other species. The tools available in the database include UniGene Editor, in silico hybridization (Northem digital), analysis of codon usage and single sequence repeats, comparative genomes features, clustering using gene ontology, MIPS and Pfam.
