J. aEvapotranspiration for corn as related to pan evaporation.h[electronic resource] c1961 aAn experiment designed to measure transpiration and evapotranspiration of corn as related to meteorological factors was conducted at Ames, Iowa, during the summer of 1959. In this experiment, the loss of soil moisture from plots in which corn was growing under natural conditions was considered to be evapotranspiration. Ratios of evapotranspiration to pan evaporation were computed for periods from 10 to September 9. A curve fitted to the ratio points indicated that the water use by corn is dependent upon corn development. This is probably true for other annual crops. aEvapotranspiração1 aSHAW, R.
