Proliferating shoot cultures from lateral buds appeared exttremely compact with shortened internodes and leaf lamina of the cvtokinin level (BAP 2 uM) reported for multiple shoot production from shoot tips. ZEA (4 uM) and 2iP (8uM) although reduced the proliferation rate, resulted in batter growth of the shoot from lateral bud.
