F.  aEstabelecimento de mudas de leguminosas arbóreas em pastagem em uma região de baixada.  c2007  aParceria: PESAGRO.  aFez-se em três épocas diferentes do ano, a avaliação do estabelecimento de mudas, sem proteção e na presença de animais, de 16 espécies de leguminosas arbóreas em pastagem estabelecida de Tifton-85 no município de Seropédica, RJ, por meio de nove variáveis relacionadas ao comprimento e número de brotos das mudas, antes e após pastejo dos animais. As diferenças estatísticas entre as medias pelo teste Scott-Knott dos 48 tratamentos da variável canônica principal, sugeriram a forma-ção de três agrupamentos. Diferenças entre as medias dos tratamentos para cada variável, calculadas por meio de intervalos de confiança de Bonferroni, mostraram que a jurema Preta (Mimosa tenuifla-ra Wild. Poiret) apresentou 0 maior comprimento e numero de brotos e a menor porcentagem de perda do número de brotos com o pastejo, recomendando-a para a região como a leguminosa arbó-rea com maior possibilidade de sucesso, se introduzida na pastagem, sem a proteção das mudas e na presença do gado. The introduction of unprotected young plants of 16 leguminous tree species inta Brachiaria decum-bens pastures under grazing was evaluated in three different moments of the year at the Seropedica, RJ. Nine variables related to length and number of sproutings were used for the evaluations before and after animal grazing. The statistical difference of the means by the Scott-Knott test of the 48 treatments of the principal canonical variable, suggested the formation of three groups. Difference among treatments means for each variable, calculated by Bonferroni confidence intervals, revealed that Jurema Preta (Mimosa tenuiflora) presented the greatest length and the highest number of sprou-tings, the shortest differences of length and number sproutings and the lowest loss in the percentage of sproutings after animal grazing. The results related to the variables after grazing obtained from Jurema Preta confirm its recommendation for the region as the leguminous tree with the highest chances of growth whether introduced into pastures under grazing without protection.  aMimosa tenuiflora  aPastagem1 aSOUTO, S.
