The first, Choeroniscus minor (Peters, 1868), was until recently known only from the Amazon (Koopman 1993), but a single male was recorded in the lowland Atlantic forest of the Linhares Forest Reserve in the state of Espirito Santo by Peracchi and Albuquerque (1993). The second species, Artibeus gnomus Handley, 1987, was known only from the Amazon basin in northern South America. aChiroptera aMorcego aChoeroniscus minor aMata Atlântica1 aZORTEA, M.1 aTADDEI, V.
