F. aCharacterization of selected phytophthora species by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis and pathogenicity toward roots tock-scion tissue. a[West Lafayette]: Purdue Universityc1979 a88p. aPh.D. Thesis. aThe relative pathogenicity of 31 isolates of 8 phytophthora species was determined by measuring lesion lengths produced on 5 rootstocks and 7 scion cultivars. All species were shown to be pathogenic to all rootstocks and scion varieties tested. Thirty out of the 31 isolates were pathogenic to all rootstocks, whille 28 out the 31 isolates were pathogenic to all scion varieties tested. Analysis of variance showed significant differences among species and specie isolates in their pathogenicity toward rootstock and scion tissue. Significant differences in susceptibility of rootstock and scion tissue were also noted. Protein extracts of four isolates of two phytophthora species were analyzed by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. Results showed reproducibility of protein patterns for individual isolates. Analysis of the protein patterns of isolates permitted distinction between species of P. cactorum and P. palmivora, as well as between isolates within species. aelectrophoresis afungi apathogenicity arootstocks ascions aEletroforese aEnxerto aFungo aPatogenicidade aPhytophthora aPorta Enxerto aGrafiting
