The main focus is on soil carbon stocks and dynamics, soil and water quality and crops and beef cattle yields throughout these past decades. The Cerrados region contributes significantly to national agricultural and forestry production. However, crop yields are low despite the technological advances being made. Due to inadequate management systems, these soils are easily degraded, leading to decreases in crop yields, los ses of organic matter, stnlcture degradation, erosion, high runoff, sedimentation and contamination ofthe regions rivers. acarbon acrops apastures asoil aCarbono aCerrado aConservação do Solo aPastagem aSolo aCultura agricola1 aVASCONCELLOS, C.
