T. aStructure and floristic composition in an area of cerrado in Cuiaba-MT, Brazil. c1992 aA floristc study of 1 ha of cerrado vegetation in the District of Coxipo (Cuiaba, Mato Grosso, Brazil) was carried out. Approximately 70% of the study site was on non gravel soil (area A) and 30% on gravel soil (area B). Vochysiaceae was the most important family in the study site. Qualea parviflora (Vochysiaceae) showed the highest IVI and, although occurring in both areas, it had special incidence in area A. The species composition was similar in both areas, but area B showed greater species number and a higher diversity index. It is possible that some variations in chemical properties of soils in areas A and B may explain the phytosociological differences between areas. abotanical composition aBrazil aplant anatomy aCerrado aComposição Botânica aEstrutura Vegetal aBrasil aCuiaba aMato Grosso1 aSADDI, N. tRevista Brasileira de Botanicagv.15, n.1, p.47-55, 1992.
