CD ROM.c2005  aResumo: O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o comportamento sexual e as características seminais de carneiros Santa Inês na Região Norte Fluminense. Foram realizadas observações em duas criações e em duas etapas intercaladas, utilizando-se três machos por propriedade, avaliando-se as características seminais como volume do ejaculado (Vol), motilidade progressiva (MP), turbilhonamento (Turb), vigor e concentração (Conc); e o perímetro escrotal (PE), peso e condição corporal (CC). Para o comportamento sexual avaliado através do Teste de Libido, foram observados e quantificados os seguintes eventos realizados pelos machos: tempo de reação (TR), perseguição (PERS), cheirar, reflexo de flehmen (RF), lamber, ereção peniana (ERP), exposição de pênis (EXP), arremetida pélvica (ARP), monta completa e desinteresse (DES) pelas ovelhas. As médias das características seminais encontradas nas duas criações estão dentro dos limites recomendados pelo CBRA (1996). Observou-se que os machos frente a fêmeas fora do estro, realizaram um maior número de eventos como: perseguição, cheirar, lamber e reflexos de flehmen. Entretanto, quando as fêmeas estavam em estro, mostraram maior desempenho em arremetida pélvica e monta. Abstract: The aim of the work was to evaluate the sexual behavior and the seminal characteristics of ram Santa Inês breed in the Fluminense North Area. Observations were realized in two farm and in two stages, being used three males by farm, was evaluated the seminal characteristics as volume of the ejaculated (Vol), progresseive motility (MP), sperm massal motility(Turb), vigour and sperm concentration (Conc); and the escrotal circunference(PE), weigh and corporal condition (CC). For the appraised sexual behavior through the Test of Libido, were observed and quantified the following sexual events by the males: reaction time (TR), persecution (PERS), to smell, flehmen reflex (RF), to lick, penis erection (ERP), penis exhibition (EXP), pushing (ARP), complete mounting and indifference for the sheep. The averages of the seminal characteristics found in the two creations are inside of the limits recommended by CBRA (1996). It was observed that the males front to females out of the estro, they accomplished a larger number of events as: persecution, to smell, to lick and flehmen reflexes.
