Q. aUdder characteristics in Toggenburg dairy goats.h[electronic resource] c1989 aAbstract: This paper focuses on some parameters of udder characteristics of Toggenburg goats estimated by Least Square procedures. Principles of udder changes are described. Results were high heritabilities for some udder characteristics and significant correlations between them. Udder characteristics were based on measurements and proposed for breeding. Udder measurements taken for selection may have efficient effects. Most udder characteristics had significant correlations with 180-day milk yield. Path analysis showed that their coefficients to 180-day milk yields were higher than the coefficients of body weight, milk components and body score to 180-day milk yield. It could be important to use udder characteristics in breeding practice. aAnimal genetics aGoats aMammary glands aMilk production aMilk yield aReproduction aCabra Leiteira aCaprino aGlândula Mamaria aParâmetro Genético aRaça aRendimento aCorrelação aHerdabilidade aMedida corporal aÙbere tSmall Ruminants Researchgv. 2, n. 2, p. 181-190, Jul. 1989.
