R. aSome patterns of response to climate by the Zambian goat.h[electronic resource] c1974 aAbstract: Some responses to heat load, in particular the load due to solar radiation, were studied for eight male Zambian goats of the "Small East African" type during the two hottest months in Zambia. The goats responded to high radiation heat loads by increasing skin temperature and respiration rate. They also responded to increasing air temperature by allowing their body temperatures to increase. The effects of heat load on food intake and urine output were minimal or not clearly defined. Some comparisons are made between the responses of these goats and those of African hair sheep. aBioclimatology aGoats aHeat tolerance aPhysiology aSheep aSolar radiation aBioclimatologia aCaprino aManejo aAdaptacao ao calor1 aBROADBENT, M.
