Infectionwith PI3 virus is widespread. Experimental andlimited epidemiological studies indicate that PI3virus can act as a respiratory pathogen, but severeclinical iIIness or persistent pulmonary lesionscan not be attributed to the virus alone. Future studies will probably reveal a numberof viral causes of respiratory disease in sheepand substantiate the role of chlamydiae and myco-plasmas as primary lung pathogens in this species. aAustralia aSheep diseases aDoença Animal aOvino aPneumonia aRespiratory diseases
