Records were analyzed for rate, rhythm, interval durations, and component amplitudes. Mean heart rate was 96 beats/min., with most goats having a respiratory sinus arrhythmia. Vectors were constructed for mean frontal plane P, QRS, and T forces. Frontal plane vectors for P, QRS, and T were found to lie at 56[degree],[long dash]169[degree], and 73[degree], respectively. Limb lead patterns of QRS were greatly variable, except in lead I. Placement of 10 goats in right sternal, left sternal, and standing positions resulted in little change in the ecg. Study of orthogonal leads I, aVF, and V10 in 10 goats in right sternal recumbency indicated that ventricular activation is spatially oriented dorsad, dextrad, and slightly craniad. aElectrocardiography aGoats aHeart rate aMales aCaprino aEletrocardiograma aFisiologia1 aCLARK, D.
