Carabaos on native/ipil-ipil pasture at 1.5 animal units per hectare had significantly higher (P/ .01) liveweight gain per head per day (ADG), and per hectare than the native pasture at 0.75 a.u per hectare. Liveweight gain per hectare of 167.9 and 174.8 kilograms on native/ipil-ipil pastures at 1.5 and 2.0 animal units per hectare were significantly higher (P / .01) than on native pasture with 51 kilograms at 0.75 animal unit per hectare. Native/ipil-ipil pastures had 2.8 times more herbage production and gave 2.5 times more return than the native pasture. aForage legumes aGrass-fed livestock aLiveweight gain aPasture management aPasture plants aStocker cattle aLeguminosa aMelhoramento aPastagem aPlanta Forrageira aCarabao pastures aCarabeef production aNative pasture aPasture improvement1 aCASTILLO, A.
