The goats were born during the period from October 1985 to September 1989. During pre-weaning period, kids suckled their mother and were allowed to nibble green fodder. Creep mixture was given to these kids from 1 month onward. After weaning, young goats were offered green fodder (ad lib.) along with concentrate mixture @ 200 to 400 g/day a goat. Body weight and linear body measurements, viz.length, withers heightand heat girth, were recorded at bitth and 3, 6, 9 and 12 months of age. Weight gain achieved during birth to 3 months and 3 to 6, 6 to 9 and 9 to 12 months were calculatet by subtracting the initial weight from the final weight of any panicular period.  aCaprino  aCrescimento1 aSHARMA, A.
