O. aCaracterísticas escroto-testiculares e do ejaculado em bodes mestiços submetidos a insulação escrotal. c1998 aResumo: Estudaram-se as caracteristicas do saco escrotal e do ejaculado de seis bodes 1/2 sangue Moxoto-Pardo Alpina, adultos, mantidos em confinamento, antes e apos a insulacao do saco escrotal com bolsa plastica, de parede dupla, durante 6,5 dias. O volume apresentou-se com oscilacoes atipicas e o aumento da temperatura no escroto afetou as caracteristicas escroto-testiculares e do ejaculado de modo consistente. Os defeitos espermaticos comecaram a elevar-se aos sete dias apos o inicio da insulacao. A motilidade individual progressiva atingiu os menores valores a terceira semana apos o inicio da insulacao, retornando aos valores normais entre a oitava e nona semanas. Entretanto, a degeneracao seminal ocorreu em todos os animais na quarta semana apos iniciado o desafio escroto-testicular todos os animais mostraram regeneracao do perimmetro escrotal, da consistencia testicular e do quadro espermatico. [Scrotal-testicular and ejaculation characteristics in crossbred bucks submitted to scrotal insulation]. Abstract: The scrotal sac and ejaculation characteristics of adult crossbred, Moxoto-Alpine Brown half-breed, were studied before and after scrotal insulation using plastic bag of double wall during 61/2 days. Scrotal insulation consistently affected all ejaculate and scrotal sac characteristics. Sperm morphological abnormalities began to appear seven days after scrotal heat stress. The forward progressive motility reached the lowest values at the third week after starting insulating and returned to normal values by the eighth and ninth weeks. However, seminal degeneration was completed in all animals at the fourth week after beginning of thermal injury, showing reduction of spermatic concentration, increase in morphological sperm abnormalities, and reduction in cellular vigor, culminating with the occurrence of acnesy and necrospermy.
