Multicriteria analysis was used to indicate regions with favorable conditions for greater diversity, through biophysical factors, and regions with less human pressure, based on socio-economic variables extracted from agricultural census. The results were compared with inventories of flora, phyto-sociology and biomass. Some biophysical factors showed significant relationships with the diversity of flora in the caatinga.
