The cultivated soybean (G. max) and its wild relative, together with annual wild soybean (G. soja) make up the subgenus Soja. Since 1978, about 5,000 accessions of wild soybean (including semiwild ones) have been collected in China. Some botanical, ecological, phisiological, biochemical, cytological, genetical characters were studied.
