Thesis. aExperiments were carried out aiming to evaluate stage of estrous cycle on fertility of a synchronized estrus and to determine the minimum effective level of norgestomet delivered from silicone implant capable to suppress estrus for a 16 day period of resynchronization. Postpartum suckled beef cows (n=270) in two locations were randomly in two treatments with (n=134) or without (n=136) a luteolytic dose of PGF2a, dinoprost tromehamine five days prior to the synchoronization of estrus with Syncro-Mate B (SMB). SMB consisted of an injection of 5 mg estradion valerate and 3 mg norgestomet and the insertion of a 6 mg norgestomet implant. The implant was removed 9 days later and the cows were artificially inseminated 48 after implant withdrawal. ainsemination anorgestomet areproduction aAnimal aBovino aInseminação Artificial aReprodução aBovine aCiclo aEstro aOestrus cycle aProstaglandin F2a aSincronização aSynchronization
