L.  aThe occurrence of Vibrio fetus (Intestinalis) in Australian cattle.  c1969  aFollowing the report by Akkermans et al (1956) of differences between the pathogenic vibrios isolated from cattle, Florent (1959) described Vibrio fetus (venerealis) and Vibrio fetus (intestinalis). V. fetus (intestinalis) is know to be a cause of sporadic abortion in cattle (Akkermans et al., 1956), but is not generally considered to be a cause of infertility, although Park et al., (1962) believed that this possibility should not be ignored.
