Currently, the use of synthetic insecticides is the most used control method, however, due to the need for new control measures, natural products are considered an important practice in pest management programs. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of insecticides from natural products as an alternative for the control of nymphs and adults of mealybugs P. citri and M. hirsutus. To carry out the experiments, the commercial natural products Azact®, Azamax®, Matrix® and Orobor® were tested on 1st instar nymphs and adult females of P. citri and M. hirsutus under laboratory conditions at the following concentrations 400; 300; 200; 100; 50; 25; 12.5 and 6.25 ml of p.c./100L, thiametoxam in a concentration of 40 g of p.c./ 100 L (recommended dose in the field) and the control (distilled water) and applied in a Potter tower. The insects were evaluated for 24, 48 and 72 h after the application of the products. Lethal concentrations (LC50 and LC95) and Toxicity Ratios (TR) were determined individually for each LC. The results indicated that thiamethoxam caused 100% mortality in nymphs and adult females of the two species of mealybugs. The Matrix® Azamax® and Orobor® products showed higher toxicity for 1st instar nymphs of P. citri and M. hirsutus. For adult females of P. citri, Matrix® and Orobor® presented toxicity, however, none of the natural products showed efficiency in the controls of M. hirsutus adult. In conclusion, there is a need for further studies on the effectiveness of these products on mealybugs for their control in grape, especially in the Sub-Middle region of the São Francisco Valley. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to the development of a more sustainable and effective pest control strategy for grapevine crops, especially in developing countries like Brazil. aGrapes aInsects aPlanococcus citri aToxicity aCochonilha aInseticida aInseto aMaconellicoccus Hirsutus aUva aViticultura aProdutos naturais aSemiárido aToxicidade1 aOLIVEIRA, J.
