It leads to weight loss, intestinal blockage, and poor performance (Mehta and Nambiar, 2007) and the economic losses in free-range and floor production poultry systems (Upton, 2007; Abdelaziz, 2016 and Nghonjuyi et al., 2016). Chickens infected with a large number of Ascaridia suffer from loss of blood, reduced blood sugar contents, increased urates, shrunken thymus glands, retarded growth and increased mortality. The severity of this infection depends on the age of the chickens (Poultry World, 2015). Larvae in the gut's lining cause hemorrhagic enteritis, resulting in wasting, diarrhea and anemia and mortality of up to 30% (Lalchhandama, 2010). aChickens aInfection1 aKEAMBOU, C.
