Brasília, DF: SBZ; Lavras: UFLA, 2008. 1 CD-ROM.c2008  aResumo: O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a precocidade reprodutiva em caprinos Saanen e 7/8 Boer + 1/8 Saanen da puberdade à maturidade sexual. Utilizou-se 14 animais Saanen e 14 animais 7/8 Boer + 1/8 Saanen, alojados em baias coletivas e distribuídos num delineamento experimental inteiramente ao acaso com 14 repetições por tratamento. Após o desbridamento peniano, os animais foram pesados semanalmente, medidos dados biométricos quinzenalmente e submetidos a coletas de sêmem por eletroejaculação a cada 15 dias até a padronização espermática. Foram geradas equações de regressão em função da idade ao primeiro espermatozóide e à padronização espermática, e realizado teste de comparação de médias dos pesos, dados biométricos nos dois momentos. Os animais Saanen apresentaram maior precocidade sexual tanto ao primeiro espermatozóide quanto à maturidade (P&lt0,01). As médias de peso vivo, perímetro torácico (PT) e perímetro escrotal (PE) não apresentaram diferenças (P&gt0,05), enquanto que as de altura anterior, altura posterior e comprimento de corpo (CCOR) foram superiores (P&lt0,01) nos Saanen, e os valores de comprimento de garupa foram superiores (P&lt0,01) nos ? Boer + 1/8 Saanen. As medidas de PT, PE, CCOR foram as mais relacionadas ao primeiro espermatozóide e à padronização espermática em ambos os genótipos. Conclui-se com o presente estudo que precocidade reprodutiva varia de acordo com o genótipo e pode ser verificada com o auxílio das medidas de PT, CCOR e PE, fornecendo assim ferramentas para o aperfeiçoamento do manejo reprodutivo. [Evaluation of Reproductive Precocity in Saanen and 7/8 Boer + 1/8 Saanen Goats from the Puberty to the Sexual Maturity] Abstract: The objective of this study was to evaluate the reproductive precocity in Saanen and 7/8 Boer 1/8 Saanen crossed male goats from the puberty to the sexual maturity. Twenty eight male kids (fourteen Saanen and fourteen ? Boer ? Saanen crossed) were weekly weighted, on the biometric data were fortnightly collected. Were weekly submitted to semen collections with eletroejaculator very 15 days until the spermatic standardization. To verify the relationship between biometric data and the age at unbridling of penis it was used regression equations. Also the biometric data in the age at first spermatozoa and at spermatic standardization were evaluated by Tukey test. Saanen males reach maturity earlier than Boer crossed kids (P&lt0.01). However the body weight (BW), thoracic perimeter (TP) and scrotal perimeter (SP) at first spermatozoa and at spermatic standardization did not differ between genotypes (P&gt0.05). In both genotypes, TP, SP and body length (BL) present the height correlation to reproductive precocity at maturity.
