The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of nitrogen fertilization on the accumulation and forage production submitted to increasing doses of nitrogen in tamani-grass. A completely randomized block design with three replicates was used. Treatments consisted of equivalent doses of nitrogen at 0; 100; 300; 600 and 1200 kg ha-1 year-1. The variables analyzed were: forage growth rate (FGR), forage yield rate (FYR) and tillers population density (TPD). As the analyzed variables increased linearly as a function of the nitrogen dose, positive linear increments of 0.86 kg ha-1 day-1 for FGR and FYR and 0.82 position m-2 for PDT were estimated.
