Proceedings... Brasilia: Embrapa Genetic Resources and Biotechnology, 2000. 6 f. 1 CD ROM. (Embrapa Genetic Resources and Biotechnology. Documentc2000 aA total of 560 records was used to evaluate difference for traits of the thoracic region among subpopulations localized in three geographic areas considered genetically isolated. Results are indicative that phenotypic difference may exist among sub-populations for the variables studied. Least square means of the superior animals ranged from seven to 20% for withers height and body weight, respectively. Variables were highly and positively correlated. Estimates of phenotypic correlation coefficients were from 0.36 to 0.80 for chest height and body weight with the thoracic perimeter, respectively. More studies need to be done to determine whether that difference is due to genetic drift. aGoats aIndigenous species aIndigenous organisms aPhenotypic difference aSub-populations aThoracic region1 aD'ASCENCAO, D.
