Nas duas primeiras semanas de lactação não houve diferença (P&gt0,05) entre borregas e ovelhas. Na 3ª e 4ª semanas as borregas produziram 1,505 e 1,255 kg e as ovelhas 1,734 e 1,558 kg de leite, respectivamente, sendo estas diferenças significativas (P&lt0,05). Dentro da categoria, os animais com maior nível de alimentação produziram significativamente (P&lt0,05), em todas as semanas, maior quantidade de leite. O ganho de peso médio diário dos cordeiros com a produção de leite semanal foi altamente correlacionada e significativa (P&lt0,05). [Milk production in sheep and its correlation with weight gain of lambs]. Abstract: Six sheep and female yearling sheep with its lambs of Texel breed confined in individuals pens were analyzed in a complete razidomized design in a 2x2 factorial (two animals categories and two levels feeding). There were no significant diferences (P&gt0,05) among sheeps and yearling sheeps in the two first weeks of lactation period. In third and fourth week, there were significant differences (P&lt0,05) in milk production, for the yearling sheeps, 1.505 and 1.255 kg and the sheeps 1.734 and 1.558 kg, respectively. Within the categories, animals with higher feeding leves significanty (P&lt0,05) showed higher milk production.
