Foi conduzido um experimento com dez cabras em lactação, no setor de caprinocultura da Fazenda Experimental de Iguatemi, da Universidade Estadual de Maringá. Foram realizadas medições por dez horas diárias, durante quatro dias consecutivos. As porcentagens médias do tempo gasto em pastejo, ócio, ruminação e locomoção foram 40,3; 40,6; 14,5 e 4,6% do período de avaliação. Os animais gastaram o mesmo tempo pastejando e descansando, sugerindo que havia forragem suficiente para atender as necessidades diárias, reduzindo assim o tempo gasto em locomoção.  [Intake behavior of Saanen goats in star grass (Cynodon nlemfuensis) pasture]. ABSTRACT: The experiment was carried out to evaluate the intake behavior, spent time in grazing, rumination and resting of goats Saanen in Star grass (C. nlemfuensis) pasture. Ten goats in lactation, in the Iguatemi Experimental Farm at the Universidade Estadual de Maringá. Were used in this research. Measures were observed ten hours a day, during four consecutive days. The percentages of the spent time in grazing, resting, rumination and locomotion were 40.3; 40.6; 14.5 and 4.6% respectively. The animals showed the same percentage in grazing and resting spent the same time grazing and resting.
