Vaginal electrical resistance readings were taken daily in the morning and evening over a period of 2 oestrous cycles. The mean vaginal electrical resistance readings of cows/heifers were 127.85+or-6.10, 88.33+or-0.70, 134.91+or-3.88 and 145.50+or-2.56 during pro-oestrus, oestrus, metoestrus and di-oestrus respectively.
