Universita di Torino, p.243-244, 1985.c1985 aSpecies of Botrytis associated with onion blast and inflorescence blight were isolated from samples collected in different localites in the States of Sao Paulo and Santa Catarina. B. squamosa was the predominant associated with the first sindrome, and B. allii with the second; B. cinerea, at low frequency, appeared in both cases. B. squamosa was morphologically distinct from B. allii and B. cinerea by greater conidia, poorer sporulation, and greater production of sclerotia; B. allii was distinct from B. cinerea by greater number of sclerotia at the border of the Petri dish, smaller growth of the aerial micelium, and smaller conidia. Serologically, through the Ouchterlony agar double-diffusion method, with anti B. allii antiserum, at least 3 specific antigens of this species were evident; with anti B. squamosa anti-serum, besides the common antigen of 3 species, it was evident at least one specific antigen of B. squamosa. aBotrytis allii afungi apathogenicity aserology aBotrytis Cinerea aBotrytis Squamosa aBotrytis sp aCharacterization aDisease aMorphology aOnion1 aKIMATI, H.
