G. aThe control of warble fly larvae by the use of the systemic insecticide 4-tert-butyl-2-chlorophenylmethyl methyl phosphora-midate as a spring application. c1963 aA single dermal application of 50 mg. per kg. of Ruelene in spring reduced the number of live warble larvae in the backs of treated cattle by 97%. In controls there was an increase of 313%. No signs of organo-phosphorus toxicity appeared in any treated animal. In tests on the control of warble-fly larvae carried out in 1962 in various parts of England and in Scotland and the Irish Republic, Ruelene in an emulsion formulation was poured on to the backs of cattle at about 50 mg. toxicant per kg. body-weight in the spring (February-May), and the larvae in the backs of the animals were counted then and one month later. aCattle tThe Veterinary Recordgv. 75, n. 23, p. 585-587, Jun. 1963.
