R. aComplete rations for sheep utilizing crop residues and agro industrial byproducts. c1981 aFour complete rations were formulated using crop-residues and agro-industrial by-products, and were tested in a growth and metabolism experiment using Deccani lambs. The rations contained 13.70-13.79% crude protein, 16.02-18.99% crude fiber, 9.38-10.13% digestible crude protein and 53.20-54.61% total digestible nutrients. No significant differences were observed in average daily gain and feed intake or in the digestibility coefficients of dry matter, crude protein, crude fiber, ether extract and N-free extract of the control and experimental groups. All 4 experimental groups recorded positive N, Ca and P balances. Alkali treatment of crop-residue mixture showed no beneficial effect on growth rate and nutrient digestibility. aAnimal feeding aAnimal nutrition aByproducts aSheep aAlimento para animal aConsumo aCordeiro aDigestibilidade aNutrição animal aNutriente aOvino aRação aTaxa de crescimento1 aREDDY, D.
