Rectal temperature and respiratory and sweating rates were measured. At 20 deg , the goats had slightly lower rectal temperature and respiratory rate (37.6 deg and 26/min) than sheep (38.4 deg and 22/min). After exposure to 42.5 deg for 30 min the sheep and goats had almost similar sweating rate and rectal temperature, but sheep had higher respiration rate. Throughout the period of exposure there was no significant difference in rectal temperature between the 2 species. aOvino1 aRAI, A. K.1 aMORE, T.1 aDHALIWAL, J. S.
