Considering that site quality is an important factor in guiding more appropriate stand management practices, the classifcation of sites for commercial Amazonian tree species can contribute to expansion and increase of yield from industrial plantations in the region which is relevant for reforestation of degraded areas to mitigate the impacts of climate change and simultaneously provide environmental services and income for farmers and traditional populations. Our specifc objectives were: (i) analyze if nonlinear models accurately predict the wood productive capacity of B. excelsa plantations and, ii) identify which topoedaphic characteristics are more linked to growth variations in B. excelsa plantations. |
