Conteúdo: |
Mass production of Bacillus thuringiensis by the submerged and solid state fermentation is reviewed. Authors comment on the feasibilities and the importance of introducing this technology to the countries of MERCOSUL (Southern Market) where the insects and pests are of major obstacles for the production of adequate food. Authors review the studies conducted on the production of endo and exotoxins, utilization of alternative substrates and discuss the consideration and the importance of different parameters and requirements for an efficient mass production. The Brazilian experience in the mass production of B. thuringiensis is discussed and the reference is given to the two production process patents which were obtained by the authors. |
