Lambing records collected over a 6-yr period on sheep of the Muzaffarnagri breed and its F1 and F2 crosses with Dorset and Suffolk were analysed. Data for Dorset- and Suffolk-sired crossbreds were combined. In purebreds, F1s and F2s resp., the lambing rate averaged 49.8, 47.2 and 55.6%, but differences were not significant. Lambing rates are tabulated for purebreds and pooled crossbreds according to age of ewe. |
