This work presents a method for the semi-automatic derivation of a first version of a entity-relationship schema for an application. The starting point is a textual requirements description made by users using natural language. This description is them modified in a proeliminary phase and transformed into another text, with formalized grammatical rules. This new version of the description is then processed by a syntactical analyser, that maps terms into entity-relationship modeling primitives, with the help of dialogues with the user. Those terms or primitives are then incrementally grouped in a domain base, from which a first version of the entity-relationship diagram can be easily derived. |
