There are many studies in the world that characterize the effect of the climate on grape composition and wine characteristics and typicity conceming different viticultural regions. However, the same is not true conceming studies in a worldwide scale to characterize this effect considering different climate types. This study is part of a CYTED (Ibero- American Program for Science, Technology and Development) project in vitivinicultural zoning. The objective was to characterize the effect of the viticultural climate on white wine typicity on the macro Ibero-American viticultural region. The methodology used 46 grape-growing regions in 6 Ibero-American countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Portugal and Spain. The viticultural climate of each region was characterized by the 3 viticultural c1imate index of the Geoviticulture MCC System (I): HI (Heliothermal index), CI (Cool night index) and DI (Dryness index). The main sensory characteristics observed frequently in representative white wines produced with grapes of each of these 46 grape-growing regions were described by enologists in the respective countries, using the methodology of Zanus & Tonietto (2). The sensory description concemed the intensity of perception of Color (Cou), Aroma - Intensity (Ar), Aroma - Ripe Fruit (Ar-Fm), Body - Palate Concentration (Con), Alcohol (AI) and Acidity (Ac). The Persistence in Mouth (Per) was also evaluated. The data were submitted to a correlation analysis of the variables and to a Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The results showed that the typicity of the white wines was correlated with the viticultural climate indexes HI, CI and DI from MCC System. The main wine sensory variables affected by viticultural climate are identified. RESUMO: A evolução da suinocultura no Brasil foi acompanhada pelo aumento na geração de resíduos que possuem elevado poder poluidor. O objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar o efeito da progressão de carga orgânica volumétrica (COV) sobre a produção de biogás a partir de dejetos de suínos em reator UASB. O reator utilizado no experimento possui 6,6 L de volume útil e foi alimentado de forma contínua a 37 °C. A maior produtividade de biogás foi de 1,9 m3 N biogás m3 reator-1 d-1, no momento em que o reator estava sendo operado com COV de 2,9 gSV adic L-1 reator d-1 e TRH de 36 horas, enquanto que os menores resultados para teor de metano, produtividade e rendimento de biogás foram quando o reator estava com COV de 8,4 gSV adic L-1 reator d-1 e TRH de 24 horas. Os resultados demonstraram o comportamento das variáveis que afetam a produção de biogás permitindo compreender e prever situações semelhantes em escala real. ABSTRACT: The evolution of swine farming in Brazil was accompanied by an increase in the generation of residues that have chemical and biological characteristics of high pollutant power, such as swine manure. The aim of this work was to study the effect of organic loading rate (OLR) on the biogas yield in UASB reactor treating swine wastewater. The reactor used in the experiment had 6.6 L of useful volume and was operated continuously at 37 °C. The highest productivity of biogas was 1.9 m3 N biogas m 3 reactor -1 d -1 , when time the reactor was being operated at OLR of 2.9 gVS add L -1 reactor d -1 and HRT of 36 hours. The lowest value for methane content, productivity and biogas yield were obteined the reactor was operated at OLR of 8.4 gVS add L -1 reactor d -1 and 24 hours HRT. The results demonstrated the behavior of the variables that affect the biogas production allowing understand and predict similar situations at full scale.
