The object of this work to objectively study the conduct of the sexual behavior of the Andalusian stallions in a natural directed mount. 89 services were controlled during the reproductive seasons of 1998 and 1999. All the stallions submitted to study belong to the CRE and R n.3, located in Ecija, Seville. Through direct observations and real times the records correspond to quantitative and qualitative characteristics of behavior during the conduction, the exploration and the mount. The stallions perform a variable sexual courtship, referring to various parts of the mare which were smelled and licked (84 p.100 are in the perineal area or escutcheon) or bit with the lips (from 1 to 4) and teeth (1 to 5). The stallions showed flehmen close to a 48 p.100 and the number of times this reflex repeats itself during the mount was a mean of 1.71 (sd(2.73 and se (0.32). The environmental conditions were controlled in each service, showing: firmness of hind limbs while leaning on them (44 p.100 of the horses kicked); grade of erection or depletion of the penis in the first service (87 p.100 totally erected); incidence of biting the mane (53 p.100). It was controlled in relation to the previous sexual experience: services without erection (18 p.100); elevations or missed impulses (37 p.100): mounts through the side (14 p.100). In 97 p.100 of the observations, the ejaculation was produced in the first service. It was observed during the ejaculation a mean of 6.6 shakes of the tail (sd=2.6, se=0.04) and these signs were manifested greatly in 25 p.100 of the cases. The time observed the beginning of the mare's exploration until the end of the ejaculation was a mean of 10m (sd=16, se=0.26). In the post-service behavior it was observed that 76 p.100 of the stallions showed to be relaxed after coitus. Within them, 73p. 100 showed a hanging flaccid penis as opposed to a 12 p.100 that maintained it erected and a 15 p.100 that had it in normal conditions. Those signs were classified as favorable or unfavorable and we valued the stallions because of this. This valuation showed that these stallions have a lot of sexual experience and did not behave dangerous for mare or manager.
