Selectivity of the Combination of the Essential Oils to Parasitoids of Nymphs of Aleurodicus cocois (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) in Cashew Tree A cashew whitefly, Aleurodicus cocois (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), is one of the main pests of cajuculture. The use of essential oils and their constituents is an alternative means of pest control. In fact, it has been shown that the combined use of oils from Lippia sidoides and Cymbopogon winterianum efficiently controls A. cocois. However, the impact of this mixture on the natural enemies of this pest has been little investigated. In view of this, the present study was conducted to find out the selectivity of the combination of essential oils of L. sidoides and C. winterianum in the proportion of 3:2, respectively, on species Encarsia hispida and Encarsia tamaulipeca, parasitoids of A. cocois, in addition to other parasitoids in these species could not be identified. In order to assess the selectivity of the combination of essential oils of L. sidoides and C. winterianum, the following permitted levels (CL) were tested: kill 50, 80 and 99% of the population of the initial stage of A. cocois (29, 01 ?L / mL; 32.74 ?L / mL and 40.54 ?L / mL, respectively). The mixture of oils was sprayed through a Potter tower over the infiltrations in the fourth instar of parasitized A. cocois, and individualized in Petri dishes. It was found that the permitted rates (CL) support the deaths of 50 and 80% of the nymphs of the fourth instant of A. cocois (CL50 and CL80, respectively) were highly selective to the parasites of this pest, since with the loss of parasitosides in each of these procedures was 71,25% and 55%, similar to that used for the witness. In contrast, when applied to CL99, the percentage of emergent parasitosis was considered to be lower than the control. Therefore, it is concluded that a mixture of essential oils of L. sidoides and C. winterianum presents low risk for parasites of A. cocois due to the high selectivity in the smallest filters and moderate selectivity in the highest concentration. The weed control in coffee plants has great importance, as they compete for light, water and nutrients. The chemical control is the most used, emphasizing the glyphosate, however, when applied, drift can occur and consequently cause injuries to coffee. Many farmers use the sucrose application with the objective to reverse the damage caused by the herbicide drift, even without scientific basis to justify such action. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the sucrose application on the detoxification of coffee plants in the implantation phase with glyphosate drift. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse, using a randomized block design, arranged in a 3 x 3 factorial scheme with 2 additional treatments, using 3 sucrose doses (2, 4 and 8%) with 3 application times (1, 24 and 168 hours after intoxication with 10% of the commercial glyphosate dose) with an additional one in which the plants were not intoxicated and not treated with sucrose and another only with plants intoxicated by glyphosate. After 75 days performing the experiment, growth, physiological and anatomical characteristics were evaluated. The application of sucrose in the reversal of intoxication of growth variables (height, leaf area number of leaves, shoot dry weight and dry weight of the root system) was not efficient. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the sucrose application on the detoxification of coffee plants in the implantation phase with glyphosate drift. For the physiological variables the application of 2% sucrose, one hour after glyphosate intoxication was the most efficient treatment.
